The man who brings life to the pack. Dominic Cork is a breath of fresh air. A pleasure to work with. He has recently become a PROBIZ Ambassador and has attended numerous PROBIZ events, making his first PROBIZ stage appearance in front of 350 accountants.
Dominic Gerald Cork (born 7 August 1971 in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire) is an England Cricketing Legend yet he is still playing!
Cork is a right-handed lower-order batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium, and is renowned for his swing and seam control.
Cork made his first-class debut with Derbyshire in 1990 and ended up with a career-best of 9/43 against Northamptonshire. He also made a double century against Durham in 2000.
Cork also played for Lancashire and Hampshire. On 25 July 2009, Cork helped Hampshire win the Friends Provident Trophy at Lord's, putting in a man-of-the-match performance, 16 years after his first in the 1993 Benson & Hedges Cup final, by taking 4/41, including the wicket of England wicketkeeper Matt Prior for a second ball duck.
During the 2010 season, Cork led the side to victory in the 2010 Friends Provident t20 finals day at the home of Hampshire cricket, the Rose Bowl.
Outside cricket Cork regularly commentates on the game for Sky Sports.
In December 2010, Cork was named as one of the contestants for series 6 of Dancing on Ice with Finnish figure skater Alexandra Schauman. He was eliminated in week four after being voted off by his fellow contestants, following a skate-off with presenter Jeff Brazier.
Having 'slipped on ice' Dominic is now spending time with PROBIZ to help PROBIZ accountants engage new clients through his contacts.
Dominic is a fun part of the team and it wouldn't be the same without it. He is the life and soul of the party!
